TECHNONICOL took part in the 27th International Young Roofers Championship
Young Roofers Championship is a professional event, oriented towards material manufacturers, contractors and roofing companies’ representatives, involved in projects. The Championship’s biggest advantage is that one can assess how the professionals work with a certain material or tool at the stand and immediately approach the manufacturing company representatives and ask all the necessary questions.
TECHNONICOL corporation actively participated in the Championship, having become one of the event’s partners and provided the material for the contest in “Flat roofs/waterproofing” qualification. The Championship was accompanied by the 66th IFD Congress and Exhibition, where TN-International representatives demonstrated a range of the most topical for the Baltic countries heat and waterproofing technical solutions for building structures from the foundation to the roof.
It is worth mentioning that the representation of company at the International Championship is one more acknowledgment of its high-level professionalism and established authority among roofing specialists. For many years TN-International representatives have been successfully cooperating with the Latvian Roofing Association and taking active part in national construction projects. Excellent reputation and high level of trust allowed TECHNONICOL (in Baltic countries) to become a partner for the International Federation for the Roofing Trade (IFD), which proves the company’s “high quality” in terms of its products, as well as its technical support in projects of any difficulty level.
Latvia was able to overtake the strongest competitor - China - at the stage of voting and proved its right to be hosting the Championship and the Congress. China will be hosting the Championship and the Congress next time, in 2020.
Teams from only 11 countries took part in the Championship, as many countries faced the lack of young contestants. They simply had no one to nominate for participation in the Championship, because the age of young roofers should be from 18 to 25 years. This was the case with Luxembourg, Belgium and Ireland. For instance, in Great Britain the average roofer’s age is 53, so the number speaks for itself.
The absolute winner of the Championship was the team from Switzerland, as it took 5 out of 16 possible award-winning places!
